Help and FAQ Related to Office Chat
Office Chat user can customize notification sounds from notification settings screen. The user can also customize it’s in-app notifications (also called as toasts).
Following is a short video explaining the customization options on notification settings screen:
Users can share images from their device’s gallery and other apps to a conversation in Office Chat. For sharing, the user needs to be first logged in to Office Chat. Before sharing, the user is shown a list of their co-workers and groups they are a part of.

Users can share files from storage apps like dropbox to a conversation in Office Chat. For sharing, the user needs to be first logged in to Office Chat. Before sharing, user is shown a list of their co-workers and groups they are a part of.
Please note that when a file is shared from dropbox, the link to download the file gets shared.

A user can search a message in a group/private conversation in Office Chat Windows app. Once user enters the search text and clicks on “Search on Web” button, user is taken to a webpage which displays the chat history page of that conversation and with the search text highlighted in the results.

In Office Chat app, user can delete multiple messages at a time in a conversation. The option to delete the messages is based on the settings done by the domain admin in Admin Portal.

Please note that:
1. In a private conversation, a user can delete his/her own messages only.
2. In a group conversation, if the delete messages setting is set to “Only group admins & network admin can delete messages” OR “User can delete own messages” and the logged in user is either a group admin or a network admin, then that user will also have the facility to delete all messages via “Delete All” button which is at the top right corner of the chat window.
3. In private as well as group conversations, any message deleted gets removed for all members of that conversation.
Users can set different chat themes in Office Chat Windows application by navigating to Preferences –> Chat Theme tab.
Users can then select the size of the font, text color for sender & receiver and bubble color for sender & receiver. Users simultaneously can have a preview of how the conversation screen will look with the selected set of theme properties.

On Admin Portal, the ability to configure integrations is enabled by default. Individual integration services can be enabled/disabled by signing into Admin Portal and navigating to Integrations –> Services.
Next step is to create a group for the integration. From the User portal, select the three dot next to the group and select Configure Integrations.
Then Enable and configure the integration of your choice.
Users can share a link from a web-browser or other apps like twitter, flipboard, NYTimes, etc. to a conversation in Office Chat. For sharing, the user needs to be first logged in to Office Chat. Before sharing, the user is shown a list of their co-workers and groups they are a part of.

For Office Chat iOS and Android, toaster notification is a notifier that pops up when you are using the app and a new message is received.
For Office Chat Windows the toaster notification is a notifier that popups whenever a new message is received or someone’s presence changes, irrespective of which application you are currently using.
For Office Chat Mac, the toaster notification is a notifier that popups whenever a new message is received or someone’s presence changes, irrespective of which application you are currently using.
For Office Chat Web, the toaster notification is a notifier that popups whenever a new message is received or someone’s presence changes in office chat, when you are on some other browser window (and not on office chat)
